My name is Josh Liles and I am running for Judge of the Miamisburg Municipal Court.

…graduated from West Carrollton High School. I attended Eastern Michigan University where I received a degree in political science and a minor in accounting. I attended the University of Dayton School of Law and graduated in 2004. My career started in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office in Wooster, Ohio. I spent all my time in the Municipal Court prosecuting criminals. In my fourteen months in Wayne County, I prosecuted over a thousand bench trials and over fifteen jury trials. I always wanted to return to where I grew up so in 2006 I moved to Miamisburg and began working at Baver & Bookwalter which eventually became my own business named Baver & Liles in 2013.

…I have represented the residents that encompass the Court’s jurisdiction with passion and determination. I have handled a wide array of cases including criminal and traffic, civil litigation, bankruptcy, family law, estate planning, and probate. This wide range of experience is invaluable in presiding and running a Municipal Court.

…and fairness has earned respect from colleagues and clients alike. I would ensure that anyone that comes before the Court be treated fairly and impartially. I believe those that need a helping hand or treatment should receive that assistance. I also believe that if you steal or damage property in our community that you must be punished appropriately, including spending time in jail when necessary. I strongly support our brave men and women in law enforcement that keep our communities safe.

…our community and have been actively involved in serving on many non-profit organizations and boards. I am a member of the Miamisburg Rotary Club, the former Miamisburg Optimists Club, the Baum Opera House Board, the Historic Plaza Theater Board, and the Miamisburg City Beautification Committee. I have spent decades representing and serving the people of West Carrollton, Miamisburg, Germantown, Miami Township, and German Township and I look forward to serving for many years to come as the Miamisburg Municipal Court Judge.
